The Couture Show: French jewellery designers shine in Las Vegas

Each year, the luxurious Wynn Las Vegas plays host to the dazzling Couture Show. A key destination for fine jewellery and high-end watchmaking, this select event brings together an exceptional community in June, setting the stage for the season’s most exquisite collections. Bringing architectural movements, polychrome passion and the timeless gold-and-diamond duo to the table, French jewellers once again have everything they need to take centre stage in Sin City this year.

Architectural movements

As always, the connection between architecture and jewellery is plain to see. It shapes the sculptural volumes of artist-jeweller Alix Dumas, whose Eternity Sunset ring is a prime example of the approach. It also inspires the futuristic, weightless contours of the Prema collection by Chrstns, which reflects a deeply spiritual approach to design.

In this same vein, the Art Deco movement breathes modernity and sophistication into the Equations and Digital collections by Jany Marcelle.

At Statement, Art Deco meets brutalism. Designer Amélie Huynh revisits her signature pieces in yellow gold, most notably My Way, where bold contrast is brought into the limelight. That same interplay is echoed in the Capture and Python collections by Akillis, where hypnotic lines express a dual vision of love, torn between freedom and possession.

A bold statement in constant flux, where metallic curves clash with the colourful worlds of other jewellery designers.

Polychrome passion

Elsewhere in the creative landscape, colour becomes a muse. A tribute to nature and joyful memories, it adds a sensorial dimension to French jewellery.

At Salomé Rico, the Gelato collection draws on childhood delights, with “melon cut” stones on rings, and gadrooned settings that recall nostalgic frozen treats – a wearable madeleine de Proust.

At Rouvenat, the lines of the iconic Bolt and Frame collections are reimagined in bold new combinations of colours, sizes and shapes. Ever loyal to its ethos of elevating what already exists, the brand pays tribute to nature in constant motion.

Lydia Courteille, meanwhile, celebrates the exuberance of the natural world and founding myths through spectacular multicoloured pieces – a vision shared by Violette Joaillerie, whose creations, inspired by the marine world, play with transparency and aquatic tones.

Diamonds – and gold – are forever

As the eternal foundation of jewellery design, the alliance of gold and the “eternal stone” continues to spark creativity among French designers.

At Viltier, Alpha-edge reinterprets the lines of the iconic Edge collection to form near-totemic letters, where generous gold tubing is occasionally paved with sparkling diamonds.

Taking a different path, Persée elevates minimalism to the level of art, stripping back form and material to exalt the essence of each piece. Suspended stones, invisible settings and mythological references blend in creations where matter and form fade away to reveal the diamond’s pure, absolute beauty.

In contrast, Yvonne Léon embraces a pop-infused spirit, where diamonds meet vibrant colours, bringing a joyful sparkle to her playful, delicate collections.

Each year, The Couture Show masterfully rises to the challenge of uniting the timeless and the sublime. For a true close-up experience, don’t miss French jewellery houses including Dinh Van, Lauren Rubinski, Marie Lichtenberg, Nouvel Héritage and Rainbow K – each one showcasing their boldness, savoir-faire and flair for innovation in an intimate yet dazzling setting.
