A Wrist Experience
Founded in Paris by Thibaud Guittard, ALTO is an independent watchmaking house that explores time as an artistic material. Born from the meeting of contemporary design, architecture, and art, the brand stands out for its sculptural approach to the case—an octagon carved like a volume of glass, the signature of its first model, the ALTO ART 01 watch.
At ALTO, each creation is conceived as a work of art to be worn: form precedes function, and emotion guides the mechanics. The first watch, whose third hand rotates in reverse, pays tribute to the cinema of Christopher Nolan and to the concept of temporal inversion.
Beyond watchmaking, ALTO collaborates with artists to push the boundaries between art, material, and time. Produced in limited series in France and Switzerland, these pieces embody a rare vision: that of an author-driven watchmaking approach, both timeless and avant-garde.
