UTINAM Manufacture
Mechanical Art
UTINAM offers a time that goes beyond simple measurement: autonomous, independent, free to repeat itself ad infinitum. A time that takes shape in a variety of spaces, open to the world, intimate, individual or nomadic. A time that comes to life through atypical creations, reconnecting watchmaking expertise with contemporary design. A time rich in opportunities and emotions for those who decide to seize it.

BEYOND THE MEASURE OF TIME,
UTINAM CREATES WORKS OF ART
Founded in Besançon, in the heart of Franco-Swiss watchmaking country, recognized as an intangible cultural heritage site by UNESCO in 2020, UTINAM has been the French specialist in contemporary mechanical watchmaking art for 30 years.
In creating UTINAM, and giving life to a project rich in meaning, creativity, and innovation, which has won numerous awards from the Grand Prix of the 2005 Lépine Competition to a nomination for the GPHG (Grand Prix de l'Horlogerie de Genève 2022), Philippe Lebru is asserting the fundamental role of the French watchmaking capital on the international scene. Artist, creator, inventor, designer, his works evolve and reveal the porous boundaries of the world of creation, art mechanics, and contemporary watchmaking.
Alongside the Manufacture UTINAM, located at 117 and 119 Grande rue in Besançon, stands the boutique and gallery of the same name. The Manufacture is a veritable showcase for mechanical watchmaking expertise and talent, and houses the production and assembly workshops as well as the design office. It's in Besançon that Philippe Lebru's UTINAM creations take shape, sometimes in collaboration with artists.
