YEMA
French fine watchmaker since 1948
Since 1948, Yema has designed sports watches specifically for Diving, Car Racing, Aviation, Sailing and Space.
Based in the town of Morteau at the heart of France’s watchmaking region, Yema is run by a third generation of watchmakers, with a team boasting over 30 years of service on average. Design, prototyping and assembling are done manually and with precision in our workshops by highly experienced French traditional watchmakers. Known for its excellent craftsmanship, the French art of watchmaking has a long-standing tradition of excellence. Watchmaking and its traditions in the Franche-Comté region have shaped a history dating back to the 1750’s, when the first establishments took root while timepiece manufacture was at the peak of its glory in France.
Over time, Morteau became its economic centre with a famous watchmaking school recognised across the watch industry and which trains future reputed professionals ever year. Truly this town has a unique standing in France’s watchmaking field. Together, all these historical and geographic factors have enabled Yema to design its own proprietary mechanical movements, which are fully designed, manufactured, and assembled in Morteau.
