XRby creator Xavier Rousset is a child of the Jura mountain range. Born in Besançon, grandson of a watchmaker, he qualified as a micro-mechanical engineer and perfected his watchmaking skills in Switzerland. Today, he is an expert in each stage of watch production from design to engineering, and perfectly understands how a movement or escapement works. Aware of the importance of know-how in watchmaking mechanics and art mechanics, he wanted to create a "bridge of the arts" between the two, and put art at the heart of his watchmaking approach. Thus was born the brand: "XR" for his initials "by" to introduce the name of the craftsman chosen for his unequalled expertise in an art form that will ennoble the dial. XRby... for the name of each of the collections in this original adventure in the artistic measurement of time and the cooperation created with a craftsman and his know-how.
The first partnership was launched in December 2020. Another particular aspect is key: protecting the environment is at the heart our civic concerns. For the founder of XRby, it is essential to help search for a respectful balance between humankind and the planet. His postulate is the following: only what will be sold is manufactured. The website xrby.art is available to potential customers who can appreciate the design of each model and place an order. In this way, only the materials needed to manufacture the watches ordered will be extracted from the natural environment of the Jura range.
