“All our collections tell a story”
Our customised porcelain enables you to create your own unique tableware, to tell your own story, embed your monogram or coat of arms, emblems, or create your family stamp. Unique tableware that will pass down generations.
“Our tableware is made to be passed on”
My name is Laurène Desjardins, granddaughter of Manoï, whose nickname I borrowed to pay homage to her through this project. Passionate about beautiful tables and old crockery, my family heritage and the talent of an extraordinary painter pushed me to launch this tableware project, Jean-Paul Bodet.
Manoï is my grandmother’s nickname. This sname originates from the two cultures this projects represents: Ba Noï which means grandmother in Vietnamese and Mamie, which means grandmother in French. The word "House" was added naturally because it refers to family history. It stands for tradition and authenticity. This word evokes a privileged universe and traditional know-how.
The coat of arms - A family heritage: This coat of arms, which was chosen to represent Maison Manoï, comes from a family coat of arms made in 1862 at the request of one of my ancestors. At the time, it was created to represent my family through a blue and white porcelain table service. The codes of period tableware have been used to create our collections. The blue colour is a representative marker of old tableware services.
The Volutes collection was created by Jean-Paul Bodet in his art studio in Bugey, in the Valromey region. "The friendship with Jean-Paul that binds us is the origin of this tableware project." Each Volutes piece in the collection has his initials JPB on the back. Requests for tailor-made creations are now very popular and especially from our Hostel and Ornaments collections.
As a French house, creating French porcelain collections in Limoges seemed obvious to us. For Maison Manoï, the idea was to promote this world famous French industry. In Limoges, craftsmen reproduce period decorations and also those of our painter, with unparalleled precision. The decorations on Limoges porcelain are made by chromolithography. Our Limoges collections are protected by the GI (Geographical Indication): a mark of prestige, as only pieces marked Porcelaine de Limoges are entirely made decorated in Limoges. This certification enables us to promote our products and the extraordinary know-how of our Limoge-based employees.
